Need information on constructing a wood railing for 24' exterior concrete stairs

Need information on constructing a wood railing for 24' exterior concrete stairs.

Here's what I have in mind just not sure of the specifics. We live in a single family home in Connecticut. It has a 24 foot set of concrete stairs that lead up to the house (not connected to the house though). I would like to install a wooden hand rail, with post set in concrete. Any pictures or illustrations would be a great help.

The questions.

1) Design? I saw some one else with a stair set about 1/2 our size with post then 3 boards running the length one on top of the post and one on either side towards the top. with a space between the top rail and the side rails.

2) Construction? Can I use pressure treated would at the local hardware store or is there something else I need to use?

3) Codes? I'm trying to find information on how far apart the post can be for safety, strength and ordinances?

This website has something like what I am thinking of but on a much larger/longer scale. http://www.hammerzone.com/archives/decks/handrail/contemporary/basic1/pa...

Thank you for all you time and assistance.
